Job Description
An established Home Care organization is looking for a Billing Assistant. The Billing Assistant supports the finance department by handling billing processes, managing insurance claims, and addressing any payment-related inquiries. This role ensures accuracy in client billing and assists with resolving discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and send out accurate invoices to clients in a timely manner.
- Manage and process insurance claims, including follow-up on outstanding claims to ensure prompt payment.
- Address and resolve any billing discrepancies or client inquiries related to invoices and payments.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all billing transactions.
- Assist with the reconciliation of accounts receivable to ensure all payments are accurately recorded.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary information for billing purposes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all billing processes.
- Provide administrative support to the finance department, including preparing reports and documentation as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of billing procedures and policies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor accounts for overdue payments and coordinate with clients to arrange payment plans if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
- Experience in a home care environment preferred.
- Knowledge of billing processes, insurance claims management, and payment processing.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address billing discrepancies effectively.
