Job Description

As the Creative Director, you will be the driving force behind the company’s creative space, overseeing people, processes, and the output of their creative team. Your leadership will ensure that what the company creates not only meets but exceeds the standards of quality and innovation their brand is known for. This role demands a keen eye for detail and design, exceptional team management skills, and a strategic approach to balancing speed, quality, and cost.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Vision: Own the creative space, setting and maintaining high standards for the team and the results. You will have ultimate decision making responsibility for the creative output across our ecommerce sales division.
  • Creative Vision: Determine the creative vision and direction of critical projects. Set guidelines for creative standards and give final approval for mission critical projects, as aligned with company needs
  • Talent Sourcing: Build and implement processes for finding, onboarding, training, and offboarding that your creative team leads can use for managing their team members.
  • Team Building: Lead the internal build out of our in-house creative division and build a roster of external creative resources, building a team that maintains high standards of quality and efficiency, while balancing the budget and aligning with company objectives.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and own the processes used by the creative division and ensure their effectiveness and usefulness as the team evolves and grows.
  • Budget Management: Set and manage project budgets, SLAs, and KPIs. Ensure that the team is effectively allocating resources across projects.
  • Collaboration: Serve as the main point of contact for collaboration between department heads, owning the escalation process and ensuring clear communication across departments. Set processes on how design team members communicate with product managers for effective and clear communication
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure clear visibility into team capacity, SLAs, and backlogs to facilitate effective project management and prioritization.
  • Priority Setting: Set priority of projects and set standards for what projects will be accepted by the team and the necessary resources to allocate to the project.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Amazon merchandising, demonstrating a strong understanding of visual product display strategies.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within an agency setting, managing creative teams of 5+ members.
  • Proven ability to manage people and processes, with a strong track record of maintaining team standards and effectively managing teams.
  • Exceptional multitasking and priority-setting skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Native English speaker with a robust sense of design and creative strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in balancing talent resources and creative budgets to allocate effectively towards projects.
