Judaic Elementary Teacher

Job Description

A growing Chabad day school located in Queens with over 150 students is looking for PART-TIME & FULL TIME elementary teachers for grades 1-8. The Morahs or Rebbis should have a passion for teaching and be knowledgeable in Judaic topics. The candidate should be committed and passionate about teaching! As the Teacher, your main responsibility will be to prepare and implement a full educational programs and plans according to the school’s requirements and guidelines. 

Responsibilities

• Planning, preparing and delivering Judaic lessons (up to par to school’s curriculum) to all students in the class
• Assigning work to students
• Correcting and grading
• Conducting individual performance evaluation
• Engaging parents and creating healthy relationships 
• Organizing workshops
• Attending webinars and teaching conferences for further education
• Involving students into the lessons
• Undertaking of professional development
• Maintaining good order and discipline among students

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience as a teacher is preferred
• Able to speak clearly to students, other teachers, parents and administration officials.
• BA degree in teaching 
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
