Job Description

An established Home Care organization is looking for a full-time an experienced and qualified Nurse Instructor to join our team and lead training programs for Personal Care Aide Training Program (PCATP) and Home Health Aide Training Program (HHATP). The organization is a fully licensed and bonded home health care agency serving Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island, as well as a Fiscal Intermediary in most New York counties, and is the home care agency of choice for thousands of families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and a passion for teaching and mentoring future healthcare professionals. This role involves organizing, and conducting training sessions that comply with state and agency regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver comprehensive training sessions for PCATP and HHATP, ensuring compliance with state regulations and standards.
  • Develop and update curriculum and training materials to align with current industry practices and regulations.
  • Provide hands-on training in clinical skills and home care best practices.
  • Assess and evaluate trainees’ performance through practical demonstrations and examinations.
  • Foster a positive learning environment, addressing student inquiries and promoting engagement.
  • Maintain detailed records of training activities and student performance.
  • Ensure all training documentation meets regulatory and agency requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) with a current license in New York State.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, with at least one (1) year in home care services at an approved Article 36 or Article 40 agency (or out-of-state equivalent).
  • Preferably fluent in Spanish to support bilingual communication needs.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and promote an inclusive training environment.
