Shipping Manager

Job Description

A growing gift and gourmet food e-commerce company is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Shipping Manager to oversee and optimize our shipping operations. This role works closely with senior operations leadership and serves as the primary point of contact between our internal shipping team, warehouse partners, and carriers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing both logistics workflows and people in a fast-paced e-commerce environment. This is a remote role with real ownership and impact.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective order fulfillment
• Manage and coordinate shipments across internal teams, warehouses, 3PLs, and carriers
• Work directly with the internal shipping team to ensure efficiency, accountability, and consistent performance
• Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and identify process gaps or inefficiencies
• Track shipments from preparation through delivery, proactively resolving delays, errors, or exceptions
• Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including manifests, bills of lading, and shipping confirmations
• Monitor and report on shipping KPIs, including accuracy, on-time delivery, and team productivity
• Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and implement process changes to reduce errors and improve speed
• Communicate clearly with leadership regarding performance issues, bottlenecks, and operational needs
• Support training and onboarding of new shipping team members as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain operations (e-commerce experience strongly preferred)
• Prior experience managing or coordinating a team, with the ability to hold employees accountable
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and making decisions in a fast-moving environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn shipping, inventory, and task-management systems
• Proactive, solutions-driven, and process-oriented mindset
