Job Description
A property management company specializing in residential rental real estate is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The company manages a significant portfolio of residential units across multiple locations, focusing on both conventional and affordable communities. Their services encompass leasing, maintenance, tenant relations, construction oversight, and accounting. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all financial aspects of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This individual will play a critical role in financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making to support the company’s goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee financial operations, including reconciliation of accounts, preparation of balance sheets, and allocation of funds.
- Analyze and track rent percentages and other revenue streams to maximize profitability.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support sustainable growth across the multiple locations.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Utilize software tools like BuildU or AppFolio to maintain accurate financial records and streamline workflows.
- Prepare timely and reliable financial reports to aid in strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with property management teams to ensure budgets align with operational goals.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience in a financial leadership role, preferably in the real estate industry.
- Proficiency with BuildU, AppFolio, or similar financial management software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
