Job Description

A rapidly growing e-commerce company is expanding operations. With a strong focus on scaling their Purchasing and Private Label Department, they are now focused on building out their HR capabilities to support this growth. They are seeking a methodical, supportive, and collaborative HR Manager to establish and manage internal human resources functions. This role is ideal for a candidate with 1–3 years of experience who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. The HR Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related activities, including recruitment, payroll, documentation, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Lead the hiring process from job postings and candidate screening to interview coordination and onboarding
    • Ensure thorough documentation and compliance for all new hires
    • Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs
  • HR Operations
    • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR policies
    • Oversee payroll processing using Fingercheck to ensure accuracy and timeliness
    • Support employee time tracking, PTO requests, and other daily HR tasks
    • Keep SOPs and training materials up-to-date
  • Compliance & Policy
    • Monitor and maintain state-specific HR compliance, particularly in NY and PA
    • Identify gaps in HR practices and implement solutions
    • Assist with internal audits and required reporting
  • People & Culture
    • Serve as a reliable and friendly point of contact for employees
    • Foster a collaborative and professional workplace environment
    • Support the COO and accounting/HR personnel on cross-functional initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in an HR generalist or administrative HR role
  • Highly organized, methodical, and detail-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Forward-thinking and proactive in problem-solving
  • Familiarity with Fingercheck or similar HR/payroll platforms is a plus
  • Basic understanding of HR compliance requirements in NY
