A private progressive school in Queens, NY is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Middle School Humanities Teacher (ELA + Social Studies) to join our warm middle school community. Candidates should be committed to working collaboratively and to becoming part of a professional learning community. Masters Degree preferred with at least 2 years of classroom experience.

Qualifications:
- Basic Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification or licensure appropriate for middle school humanities instruction
- Prior experience with creating whole-child learning activities, including classroom teaching experience with students at the relevant age band
- Prior experience with demonstrated academic results and fostering social emotional learning in student experiences
- Passion for working with and engaging children in student driven learning
- Commitment to continuous professional learning, collaboration, improvement and a willingness to share lessons learned
- Collaborative mindset and a ‘can do’ attitude to overcoming obstacles.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Education
- Prior experience collaborating with other educators
- Prior experience leading curriculum development and/or assessment.
