Job Description

A boutique property management company based in Brooklyn, NY is looking for a Lease Administration Manager, responsible for overseeing the lease agreement process. This position is heavily administrative, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of lease agreements. The Leasing Manager will ensure all lease documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze lease agreements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Manage the lease lifecycle, including renewals, terminations, and amendments.
  • Ensure lease agreements comply with legal standards, including NYC rent laws, DHCR regulations, and Section 8 housing requirements.
  • Review tenant applications in collaboration with brokers, ensuring applicants have a strong rental history.
  • Scan and digitally store lease agreements, entering all relevant data into the property management system.
  • Coordinate with legal teams to take tenants to court when necessary, managing the process and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assess property conditions upon tenant move-out, determining deposit returns or damage-related charges.
  • Collaborate with property managers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to resolve issues related to lease agreements.
  • Prepare and distribute reports on lease status, occupancy rates, and other relevant metrics.
  • Assist in developing and implementing leasing policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal and company standards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in lease management or a similar role within the real estate industry.
  • Strong understanding of lease agreements, including terms, conditions, and compliance with NYC rent laws, DHCR regulations, and Section 8 requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with legal teams for court proceedings related to tenant disputes.
  • Knowledgeable in New York City rent control and rent stabilization laws.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in using property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
