Job Description
An established insurance company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Personal Lines Department Manager to lead their personal lines team. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the personal lines department, ensuring all policies are managed effectively, and to drive long-term client satisfaction through strategic account management and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership:
- Manage and oversee all operations within the Personal Lines department.
- Lead and supervise the personal lines team, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Spearhead and execute account assignments.
- Policy Management:
- Ensure 100% of all assigned policies are issued with proper coverage.
- Oversee the renewal process, ensuring 100% of renewals are bound/active prior to expiration.
- Handle endorsements and policy changes by insured request.
- Ensure all policies are in compliance with bank requirements and respond promptly to bank requests for verifying renewal coverage.
- Customer Support and Relationship Management:
- Provide a high level of customer support to clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to drive client retention and satisfaction.
- Step in to mediate client complaints when necessary, ensuring appropriate resolution to client satisfaction.
- Respond to all customer communication within one (1) business day.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Follow appropriate billing procedures for policies.
- Send all invoices to Accounting for processing within one business day of receipt.
- Forward all notices of cancellation and loss control recommendations to the Service Team within one business day of receipt.
- Maintain up-to-date status for all Epic accounts, activities, and policies.
- Enter information in Epic in a manner that guarantees clarity for individuals unfamiliar with the account.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Training and Development:
- Provide tools and templates to enhance communication with underwriters and insureds.
- Offer training to team members in utilizing Epic and carrier portals, as well as addressing miscellaneous inquiries.
- Participate in training and development activities to stay current on insurance products, technologies, and best practices as required by state licensing requirements and Agency guidelines.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations to provide information on individual employees’ work.
- Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Conduct weekly meetings with each account manager to review upcoming renewals within the next 45/60 days and verify adherence to the timeline.
- Consult with the President on best courses of action and inform them of any lingering client concerns.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the President or Department Manager.
Requirements:

- Solid background in using Applied Epic (preferred), Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Experience in quoting and marketing new and existing accounts is preferred.
- Proficiency in completing applications, determining proper coverage, and carrier placement is preferred.
- High School Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-4 years of Personal Lines Account Management experience preferred.
- Property and Casualty License preferred; not required but must be willing to obtain
