Job Description

A warm and growing girls’ high school dedicated to fostering academic excellence, strong values, and a vibrant Chassidishe atmosphere. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal to lead their team. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for Chinuch, and the ability to build systems and culture within a school. The Principal will serve as the face of the school to parents, staff, and the broader community, with a strong emphasis on accountability, communication, and vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff Leadership & Development
    • Onboard, supervise, and evaluate staff; meet regularly with teachers individually and as a team
    • Maintain open communication channels with staff through structured meetings and consistent follow-ups
    • Oversee staff responsibilities, time off, and training needs
    • Collaborate on hiring and termination decisions
    • Ensure substitutes are secured as needed and develop a protocol for coverage
  • Student Support
    • Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers and parents for academic or emotional support
    • Facilitate smooth grade transitions through detailed reporting and teacher coordination
    • Establish and enforce academic standards and graduation requirements
    • Conduct interviews with prospective students and parents
  • Administrative Oversight
    • Submit quarterly staff evaluations and collaborate with the Administrator on staffing and budget decisions
    • Attend administrative meetings and school-wide events
    • Maintain oversight of supply lists, school-wide programs, and calendar coordination
    • Ensure accurate daily operations, discipline procedures, and attendance tracking
  • Parental & Community Engagement
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, responding within 24–48 hours
    • Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, announcements, and one-on-one meetings
    • Provide guidance to staff and parents in creating meaningful home-school partnerships
    • Foster a family-centric school environment
  • Curriculum & Academic Standards
    • Ensure each teacher understands and meets subject expectations
    • Review weekly lesson plans and assist in curriculum development
    • Implement and monitor academic standards across all grades
    • Work toward establishing or adopting a full curriculum; long-term goal of hiring a curriculum director
  • Calendar & Policy Management
    • Lead the creation and execution of the school calendar, handbooks, and school policies
    • Develop and implement educational and hashkafa guidelines
    • Coordinate graduation trip and other milestone events
  • Extracurricular & Spiritual Life
    • Oversee Bnos Chabad programs, Shabbatons, and school-wide Farbrengens
    • Ensure students experience meaningful Chassidishe Yomim Tovim celebrations and spiritual growth opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in school leadership or educational administration
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Deep understanding of Chinuch and a Chassidishe approach to education
  • Ability to build systems, lead staff, and foster community relationships
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of multi-tasking in a dynamic environment
