Job Description
A well-established garment care and tailoring business is seeking a skilled and experienced Tailoring Operations Supervisor to lead a team of five tailors. This role requires a deep understanding of clothing construction, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage both people and technical systems. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and detail oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of a team of tailors, ensuring high standards of quality and productivity.
- Oversee the fittings and communicate with customers regarding garment alterations, repairs, and adjustments.
- Manage and track customer orders, garment status, and deadlines using internal software or systems.
- Serve as a point of contact between customers and tailoring staff to ensure accurate and satisfactory service.
- Conduct quality checks on finished garments to ensure precision and customer satisfaction.
- Train, mentor, and support tailoring staff as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of tailoring, garment construction, and fabric types preferred.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within a tailoring or garment-related business.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable with using data entry systems and managing technical aspects of order tracking.
- Bilingual in Chinese and/or Spanish is a plus
- Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
