Job Description

A growing general contracting firm specializing in multifamily residential projects is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple projects, with a strong focus on ground-up construction and major alterations. The ideal candidate has at least 3–4 years of relevant experience and is ready to take ownership of exciting developments.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of construction from pre-construction through project closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans
  • Coordinate day-to-day field activities across multiple subcontractors and vendors
  • Communicate clearly and professionally via email and phone with architects, engineers, consultants, and city agencies
  • Communicate regularly with ownership, architects, engineers, and consultants
  • Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations
  • Review drawings, submittals, change orders, and RFI responses
  • Conduct site walks and inspections to ensure quality and adherence to plans
  • Lead weekly progress meetings
  • Track project costs and prepare regular updates for management
  • Handle permits, inspections, and communication with city agencies (including landmark authorities)
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and key deliverables
  • Resolve on-site issues quickly to avoid delays or cost overruns
  • Maintain daily logs, photo documentation, and reporting for project records
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3–4 years of experience in construction project management (alteration and/or new building)
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Strong leadership and management skills — able to coordinate and motivate teams
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car (travel required)
  • Willingness to commute to onsite locations in the Tri-State Area
  • Familiarity with NYC/NJ DOB regulations a plus
  • Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project) preferred
