Job Description
A growing general contracting firm specializing in multifamily residential projects is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple projects, with a strong focus on ground-up construction and major alterations. The ideal candidate has at least 3–4 years of relevant experience and is ready to take ownership of exciting developments.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of construction from pre-construction through project closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans
- Coordinate day-to-day field activities across multiple subcontractors and vendors
- Communicate clearly and professionally via email and phone with architects, engineers, consultants, and city agencies
- Communicate regularly with ownership, architects, engineers, and consultants
- Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations
- Review drawings, submittals, change orders, and RFI responses
- Conduct site walks and inspections to ensure quality and adherence to plans
- Lead weekly progress meetings
- Track project costs and prepare regular updates for management
- Handle permits, inspections, and communication with city agencies (including landmark authorities)
- Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and key deliverables
- Resolve on-site issues quickly to avoid delays or cost overruns
- Maintain daily logs, photo documentation, and reporting for project records
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3–4 years of experience in construction project management (alteration and/or new building)
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Strong leadership and management skills — able to coordinate and motivate teams
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car (travel required)
- Willingness to commute to onsite locations in the Tri-State Area
- Familiarity with NYC/NJ DOB regulations a plus
- Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project) preferred
