Job Description

A growing and established real estate title and closing company in Brooklyn is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Title Specialist to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in real estate, title, mortgage, lending, or a legal environment who is comfortable working with attorneys, mortgage brokers, underwriters, and other professionals involved in real estate transactions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously. You will play an important role in helping move transactions from title through closing while ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with real estate attorneys, mortgage brokers, lenders, and underwriters throughout the closing process
  • Review and prepare deeds, exhibits, title documents, and other closing-related paperwork
  • Create and organize complete closing packages
  • Review documents carefully for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Communicate directly with title underwriters regarding requirements, questions, and outstanding issues
  • Coordinate with attorneys and other parties to obtain necessary documentation
  • Track open items and follow up to ensure files remain on schedule
  • Assist with preparing files for residential and commercial real estate closings
  • Review title-related documentation and identify missing or incomplete information
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files
  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, lenders, and other industry professionals
  • Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Assist the team with additional title and closing responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in title, real estate, mortgage, lending, legal, or closing services preferred
  • Strong understanding of real estate transaction documentation
  • Experience working with attorneys, mortgage brokers, lenders, or title underwriters is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong computer and administrative skills
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team
